Q: What if I think I need to be evaluated for medications or I am already taking medications?
A: Dr. Fahlsing and Kris Thackrey are licensed and trained to counsel NOT to prescribe medications. However, we often consult with
psychiatrists, physicians, physicians assistants and nurse practitioners who prescribe medications. They will provide you with a
medication consultation and/or continued medication management.
Q: Do you do psychological testing and other types of assessments?
A: We do not do extensive assessment batteries. However, Dr. Fahlsing will utilize psychological testing to gain insight into an
individual's personality, but tesing is not a major part of her practice. We do work woth clinicians who specialize in
neuropsychological assessments and other types of testing and we will gladly refer you to them if need arises.
Q: Do you take insurance?
A: Yes, we will work with your insurance company. It is a process that we will tackle together.
First, you may call your insurance company and request what your mental health &/or substance abuse
out-patient treatment benefits will be for the current year.
It is important that you ask if Stacy Fahlsing, PhD or Kris Thackrey, LISW is on your insurance panel.
Please request a check of the following information: Is your policy is active? What is your deductible for the year? How much deductible have you met for this year? What is the financial amount of your copayment? What percentaged will the insurance company pay per session? How many sessions will the insurance company allow you to have per year? It is also imperative you ask if any precertification for sessions is needed? Lastly, please obtain the billing address of the insurance company.
We do suggest that you write down the date you called your insurance company and the name of the person who provided you the
insurance benefits.
